Why at the end of a Pilates workout, when you worked out hard and used a lot of energy, do you actually feel more energized? One of the answers is Ch’i, the activating energy of the universe that connects the body, mind and spirit. This workshop is based on the work and book “Meridian Exercises” by Shizuto Masunaga. He was the first to create a system for stretching the meridians to help anyone achieve and maintain a state of balance mentally as well as physically. A minimum of physical effort is required, the key to these exercises is relaxation and awareness. We will start with a brief explanation of the Meridian system and breathing exercises. Next, Ton and Michael will lead you through a series of exercises to experience the meridian lines in your body. Then we will explore and experience how you can incorporate meridian focussed movements into your Pilates sessions and classes.
